Description of the term: pH
pH is a measure of the concentration of?hydrogen ions?(H+, protons) in a solution. Solutions that hare a higher concentration of hydrogen ions than pure water (pH 7) are considered to be acidic. Solutions that contain other molecules or ions that reduce the overall concentration of hydrogen atoms are considered alkaline.
